The script that will automatically shutdown your PC when it's finished rendering.

Verified to work in Blender 4.0!

This simple add-on provides a few ways for your PC to take a rest once it's finished a hard day of rendering out your complicated animation!

When installed, a panel is added to the UI which gives you a few options for what you want to have happen when your PC finishes rendering. A thorough user guide is included.

While I encourage you to read through this guide prior to using the script, I'm going to include the most important instruction right here for all to see: Save your work first and choose an empty render output filepath before enabling this script!

It started out as an idea I came up with when I was leaving my PC at home rendering while I went to work or college. I felt uncomfortable with the idea that my PC would finish rendering then sit there idling for the rest of the day, consuming power and adding wear to its parts. This idea soon hatched into the multifaceted addon you see today!

This addon is finished and reliable, but this isn't necessarily the end of the road - there are a few things I'd like to do with it going forwards.

MAC USERS: I have not been able to fully test this on Mac. I THINK it works, but you may require certain permissions in order to have your Mac shutdown. Use at your discretion. Try it for free first!

FAQ

I've installed this add-on, and it has appeared correctly but it doesn't work

You may need admin privileges on your machine, because this works by sending a command to your terminal/powershell/command line. If you or this script don't have access to this, the most you might be able to do is use the Quit function.

Does this work on videos?

This should work regardless of what type of file you're rendering - straight to video, image sequences, etc.

Will there be further updates?

Yes. I'll aim to ensure continued support for future versions of Blender, and there are other features I'd like to implement, but this is not something I can work on full time. Updates will be infrequent at best.

Where can I contact you if I'm having issues?

Please visit this Reddit thread. Leave me a comment and I'll do my best to get back to you.
